Karen Wroe, Project Director said:
‘Organising the first exhibition to help raise funds for CAFT it became apparent that finding a suitable location to exhibit Art was no easy task and a major challenge as well as the need for an Arts Centre for the Community. It was from this first pop-up event in an empty unit that the idea was born and in and we have gone from strength to strength. We have received a number of awards in 2013 including Commendation from Towns Alive and Runner-up for the Tourism Attraction in Altrincham.’
We are currently working on the 2014 Exhibition Schedule.
Art with a Heart also coordinated the
Art with a Heart Group, Alty in Bloom Entry for the North West In Bloom Competition in 2013, achieving Bronze.
Art with a Heart, is the inspiration of Karen Wroe, a local artist based in Altrincham. Her desire is to provide exhibition opportunities to emerging creatives from a variety of disciplines, while raising the awareness of the different media and styles of art to the general public.
The guiding principles are Collaboration, Complementing and Creativity. in 2013 we partnered with a number of organisations including the Stamford Quarter, Transport for Greater Manchester, Mid-Cheshire Line Community Partnership and the Altrincham and Bowdon Civic Society. Continuing to work with these organisations, we are always looking for new and diverse ways of taking art to the people.
Art with a Heart opened their doors to the General Public on September 23, 2012 in a previously empty unit, known as Chisnalls in the heart of the Market Quarter on Shaws Road. It has gone from strength to strength.
A not for profit organisation, its mission is to make arts more accessible to a wider audience, to support emerging artists and to contribute to the regeneration of the high street. It also helps raise funds and awareness for the local charities using the arts and exhibitions.
Art with a Heart charity of choice is Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT). It is a local children’s charity, based in Cheshire, providing holidays and respite for terminally ill, disabled, sick and under privileged in the North West of England. They were the first recipient of the funds raised from the art exhibition with ’Around the World in 80 Artists’.
